The Women's Professional Hockey League (LPHF) will make its debut in Quebec City in 2025, as the Montreal Victory will face the Ottawa Charge at the Centre Vidéotron for a regular-season matchup on Sunday, January 19, at 1:00 PM.
This will be the LPHF's first appearance in the Old Capital and at the Centre Vidéotron, which can accommodate over 18,000 spectators for this game. For Montreal, it will be their fourth game in a "neutral" or "alternative" venue, following appearances at Scotiabank Arena (Toronto), Centre Bell (Montreal), and PPG Paints Arena (Pittsburgh) during the inaugural season of the league.
"The Montreal Victory is extremely excited to play a game in a world-class arena, located in a community so passionate about hockey. We’re especially happy to count on Gestev's expertise to make it a grand event. The emotions were high several times during the inaugural season, and we are confident that the people of Quebec will experience more special moments with our players," said Marie-Christine Boucher.
"We are thrilled to welcome the LPHF to the Centre Vidéotron for the first time," added Martin Tremblay, president of Gestev. "The passion for women's hockey in Quebec is undeniable, and we are excited to give fans this unique opportunity to see a high-level professional game."
"I can say without hesitation that my teammates Marie-Philip Poulin and Catherine Dubois, as well as myself, have circled this date on our calendars. It will be very special for us to play a game in Quebec, so close to our families and loved ones," said Montreal Victory goalie Ann-Renée Desbiens.
"Quebec is a fantastic hockey market, and the presence of women's teams at the Pee Wee Tournament for years shows that people here have supported women's hockey for a long time. We can’t wait to play in front of them and give our best performance," added the Clermont native goalie.
Individual tickets for this game will go on sale to the public on Friday, November 1, at 10 AM, via Ticketmaster. Fans can purchase tickets starting at $35.
