Québec, Tuesday, December 10, 2024 — A few months ago, the tribute band The Musical Box surprised its fans by announcing it would bring its Genesis Live show to Quebec City next January. Due to the overwhelming enthusiasm from the public, a second date with the musical collective was a must in 2025. Now, this wish has been fulfilled, as The Musical Box will return to Théâtre Capitole on Friday, May 23, 2025, with the iconic Selling England by the Pound concert from 1973, which has already sold out four times at this venue.
A pre-sale will be available to subscribers of the Théâtre Capitole newsletter this Thursday, December 12 at 10 a.m., while tickets will go on sale to the general public starting Friday, December 13 at 10 a.m. on theatrecapitole.com.
With excellent reviews and described as a "musical psychedelic adventure," a "true time machine," and a "nursery of talented musicians," The Musical Box production successfully brings the golden age of Genesis to life with an incredibly faithful reproduction of the 1973 show. Exquisite costumes, sounds, theatrical performances, and the handling of instruments — no detail is overlooked.
"[The Musical Box] faithfully recreates what Genesis did. I saw them in Bristol with my kids so they could experience what their father was doing back then." – Peter Gabriel
"This is not just a tribute band; they've taken a period and recreated it faithfully as a theatrical production would." – Phil Collins
About Théâtre Capitole
A heritage gem and cultural landmark in Quebec City, Théâtre Capitole is the performance hall of Capitole de Québec, located on Place D'Youville.
